Here Fishy Fishy...

Its official. My tank isnt so boring anymore! First fish bought in Seattle :)
She is a 6 Line Wrasse. Very Pretty & quite the hunter. She eats bugs off the rocks all day. Never seen a fish that cruises in and out of the rockwork sooo much. Always popping out of unexpected holes. Or peeking out one way at you only to dart out at a totally different angle. Its going to be quite a treat to have her! Queen of the tank as it is :) I also bought a small frag of Xenia. This stuff is cool to me for MANY reasons. It grows incredibly fast. Flows elegantly in the current. Changes shape and length all the time. Low Maintenance. And very easy to frag.
The tank is getting prettier :)

ruh roh.....someone hasnt posted in weeks!

Ok so I've been busy. So busy I kinda forgot about my 2 post a week goal for this here blog.. Here is the Final Renders for my first project in my Materials & Lighting class. The assignment was to create this scene from a photo reference of this LA train terminal, then light it "Blade Runner" style. No textures or painting or color yet. Just gettin us warmed up. My favorite is the first render with the moody entrance. All rendered in Maya Software except that last one. That was just some fun with Mental Ray. Learned a lot from this project, this class is bad ass!

Green Machine

Hard Surface and Organics Final

Here's what I submitted at my final in my 3D modeling class. Didn't get as far as I wanted with it, but I'm soooo happy with my progression. I consider this my first 3D project just because of the time I've spent on it. I'd give an estimate but I quite counting hours long ago. Maybe 50? Anyway I will try and upload some other paint colors as well. I still have Headlights, Tail Lights, Fog lights, Wheels, And tires, Plus exhaust pipes out the back. I'm planning on polishing this bad boy until its demo reel material, so expect more updates as I get it done.

Sketchbook Dump!

Look out! ~Naked People~
Most of these are 20 min sketches, Im much better with charcoal especially because I can get the shading and light in during a 20 min pose. I find that the model is usually about ready to break pose each time Im just finishing blocking them in. I left them all as they were, so that's why many don't have faces or are unfinished. The Muscles of the leg is the most current drawing of mine. Finished at about 4 o'clock. Got 100 out of 100 thank you very much! But yeah it's in reverse order so it goes from most current on down to the oldest which is the girl in the chair. This sketchbook is for my Figure Construction class.

This is the start to a Jessica Alba drawing. She is wearing a dress that drapes down and I thought it looked super hard so I will try and keep updating my progress on her. Very roughly blocked in so far.

Camaro to the face!

Just wanted to do a quick test render on all this hard work and restarting Ive gone through for this car. (2009 Camaro) This is my 3rd go around now from a fresh start each time, and Im really happy with the way this one is coming out. I've learned an absolute ton doing this project, both from self exploration and a few good pointers from friends. Not worried about the edge flow on the front grill, just gonna be extruded in shortly anyway. This was just to get an idea if Ive got the over all shape convincing or not.
Now it just needs, a grill, headlights, tail lights, tires & rims, mirrors, emblems, and glass....oh yeah and a back end! I have the hard part out of the way though... I cannot wait to see how this thing progresses! Gonna unplug for a bit....
