Ahhh what a week! Here's an art dump from my last few projects at the Art Institute of Seattle.
This blog is aimed at pushing myself further, taking risks with art, and learning from my mistakes.

Fridays Progress Shots
Managed to get the sweatshirt texture painted on. Then I started in on a new backpack design. I wasn't feelin' the first backpack built in ZBrush so I spent some time modeling it with more control in Maya. Next was the SOG Machete modeling. Finally with all the pieces within zbrush I can start on doing final texturing and painting. UV's will be next, then Exporting all the maps to get him lookin spiffy within Maya.....Oh yeah and if there is time I will try and model/texture/paint a base for him to be posed on.

Character Design Final - WIP Shots
Here's the character I will be submitting next Wednesday. I still have a lot to do and I'm hoping that posting progress shots will keep my energy level high throughout the weekend. My goal is to be done modeling and detailing by Sat Or Sunday. Which will give me a few days to focus on presentation shots and rendering out a nice turntable. This is the first time I've ever tried modeling clothing. I'm not happy with it yet but will keep plugging away until it looks better. The pants will probably get completely re-done as well.

Digital Portfolio Webpage!
www.boghdesigns.com
Im in the process of setting up this new weebly site after seeing the benefits of a non-flash based website for my portfolio. I really like how weebly supports a mobile version right off the bat!
I think having my Blog on the same site as my online Portfolio will help motivate me to make more frequent posts and updates.
Here is a quick test render of one of my latest projects. Meet Lurtz. By far one of my favorite LOTR characters, I decided to sculpt him and use it as an opportunity to use my school's 3D Printing capabilities. Simple BPR image with some new materials I found recently. A few of them like the Lower Left (green resin) and Top 2nd in (light blue resin) give a pretty good representation of what the sculpt would look like printed in its current state.

Marine Iguana Montage
Thought I'd put together a nice start to finish montage of my iguana with all these process renders I took along the way. Very glad I did this! I'll most likely be doing something similar for future sculpts!
Anyway to my handful of followers please feel free to leave comments or critiques!
This will most likely compress the hell out of this wonderful high res video I made, so if you are a friend on Facebook I would suggest just watching it there with their high res player. Thanks for Looking!!!

Lizard Submisison!
Been Busy!!
With the newly started Zbrush Club at AIS, I wanted to post up all the projects we work on this quarter. The first project or "Thunderdome Challenge" we did was the Primate challenge.
I chose to sculpt a Mandrill...or Ribbed Nosed Baboon. Their fangs are known to grow larger than adult male lions!
Had a lot of fun with this first project, but ultimately I think we all struggled trying to represent fur in digital clay. I just went for a more traditional style of doing the fur rather than photo real. He might get so REAL fur put on him in Maya 2011 if I find the time!
