Almost immediately after uploading my first Fibermesh test I went back into ZBrush and redid the whole process. This time with far less fibers and bit more coarse. The results are much better the 2nd time around.
I will continue to use this method for the rest of the body soon.
This blog is aimed at pushing myself further, taking risks with art, and learning from my mistakes.

Silverback Tests in KeyShot
Some early tests on a Silverback I'm working on.
I just wanted to share some progress shots, initially trying to see how KeyShot handles large amounts of Fibermesh from ZBrush.
These are 20-30min screenshots from the realtime viewport.

Blog Revival - Art Dump 2013 - Kris Costa ZBW Course
Ok so I cheated on Blogger for a while and moved my posts over to my weebly hosted portfolio website. After a few months I realized I don't like it. Blogger is better and I want to keep posting my evolution as an artist in one place. That may sound pretentious but I think it's really important to be able to see just how far you've come in ANY practice or passion.
Measuring progress is what humans do.
I'm still growing and learning every single day and I will continue to post my work and practice here for as long as Google can handle it.
Here are some examples of my Neanderthal studies done week by week during the ZBrushWorkshops - Kris Costa Course. The course spanned 10 weeks.
I can't recommend both Kris' class and the Platform that Ryan Kingslien has developed enough!
Kris has some really great feedback and critique sessions throughout, and the way Ryan has the forums set up per class is wonderfully helpful. This is the future of learning!
I plan to finish this project out in VRay and take the overall sculpt to a more finished 3D print ready piece in time.
But for now this is all straight from ZBrush 4r5 + PS
Kris had us start our characters from Skull studies.
Working from the inside out to develop our character over the 10 week course.
Here's what evolved out of it.

1hr A Day...
As of Monday I made a personal goal to sculpt 1hr everyday....for myself.
Sculpting Grimm busts all week leaves me hungry for more and the ideas are piling up in my head.
So here's one of the thumbnails from the other day, pushed an hour further. Dynamesh is such a deadly weapon I can't get over it!

Holy Hot-swappable Heads
First dabble with Mechanical/Hard Surface sculpting in Zbrush.
Very WIP and I really just wanted to get my feet wet....
But now I'm totally addicted after feeling the freedoms that come with Dynamesh.
Zbrush you are sincerely my favorite software hands down!
Done in one sitting....this is the future of thumbnailing in my opinion.
And yes...Prometheus melted my face.... to be honest I was concepting with no reference, yet you can see the impact it left on me.

Predator Study - The Wolf
Predator Study - The Wolf from Jerod Bogh on Vimeo.
He's back! Ive had a chavant version of the Wolf taunting me to finish him for a year or two now! With all my focus on ZBrush I figured he'd be a great study for me personal time.
Im looking forward to how much further I will be able to push him digitally, compared to what I could do traditionally. This is the 1st WIP Timelapse...more to come!
